ok i started another thread and every one jumped on me because i was trying to take the theory of evolution out of the mix and most here seem to believe in it so i will just say it.

the theory of major evolution is crap!

the theory is falling apart.

Do you really believe that Joseph Smith received a divine revelation? Don't you think it's convenient that he lost the golden tablets as soon as someone asked to see them? Don't you wonder why the Book of Mormon is written in ye olde English even though it was written in the 19th century? Does Jesus not speak modern English? How do you deal with the cognitive dissonance these issues must present? I'm not comparing Mormonism to JWism or Christianity.

I'm just trying to grasp how you can participate on this forum, reading about all of these problems not only with the JWs but with faith in general without seeing the problems within your own church?

Where has the money gone??????

after all the real estate sell offs, im confidently sure that the wts must be a flush with cash (well at least for the present time).

i cant believe how blissfully un-aware the local dubbies are about where the money has gone and what it is been used for.

so my question is where has all this money gone??

Why does god kill children?

i was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.

1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.

how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

Over and over again it reminds us Evolution gradualism and transmutation as well as mud puddle magic (abiogenesis) is NOT in the fossil record.

How you expect there would be micro organisms in the fossil record?

QC I curious about your thoughts on the Cambrian explosion before this book came out with its cartoons and non-science. Did you feel the same way, or did your thorough education in evolution still leave you unconvinced? Did you accept the fact of evolution before, after being thoroughly educated about it?

Or will you just continue to avoid reading or replying to us 'acceptors of facts and reality' thus showing yourself even more ignorant?

A Cry for Help

i have been lurking here for months now, and i just decided to post here and actually interact with this community.

i have a very specific/unordinary life, so i will not divulge too much information to protect my privacy.

i am a baptized publisher who is under the age of 25 who attends college, and i do have responsiblities within the congregation.

Time to start making friends at college, if you can. Miss more meetings, quit service altogether. Once you develop a decent support group outside the JWs it will hurt a lot less once you leave altogether. Your family will just chalk it up to the demonic influence of higher education. They may not cut you off if you don't get DFed,though they will always try to 'encourage' you.

I know what u mean about being the only one with eyes wide open among family who not only buys right into it, but fully depends on the cult for normality and hope. Just be glad you woke up while young, before you are married or have kids. There are many who would just up and leave in your situation because of the simplicity of it all.

Whatever you do, do not trust ANYONE with too much right now. JW apostadars are on high at the moment after the summer DC talks this year. Even your best friend or family can turn on you

Best part is, if youmdont talk about your doubts to anyone, don't give the elders any hints, they have nothing to DF you for if you play your cards right. Stay in as log as you feel it is necessary. If you can get your brother to go to college, he may wake up too. Then your folks will have a much harder time shunning you both.

Have you consider moving away to go to a different school next year? Maybe one that offers something you want but can't get nearby. Just a thought.

Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!

the drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".

my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.

don't you just love this international brotherhood.

Goes to show how TERRIFIED they are of even the word apostate.

They would rather take your oms word for it than check up with you, and endanger their little fantasy.

Had you caught wind of many rumours about you before this? I the JW rumour mill was already strong, they could have just been waiting to hear it from someone close to you who wouldn't lie about it.

What if JW.org Was Hacked?

what would the governing body do if their precious website were hacked and redirected to one such as this or jw struggle for hours or even days?

what if their site was hacked to expose ttatt on the front page, and their video content replaced by videos from people like thesnarkyapologist or danmera?.

what do you think the damage control strategy would be like?.

Tonight during the announcements they talked about the floods in southern Alberta, we were reminded that any donations to help should be made to the worldwide work... The arrogance is incredible.
